Ill-at-ease with your life? Do you feel that you are merely surviving rather than thriving?
I am a Gestalt counsellor based in North London. As a lawyer for over 25 years, I became skilled in helping clients to clarify realistic objectives for themselves and in facilitating their progress towards them. As a counsellor, I provide a non-judgemental setting in which to support individuals who need to navigate similar processes in their personal lives, perhaps in response to feelings of stress, anxiety or depression.
Perhaps you are doubting the wisdom of some of the choices which you have made in life and would like to talk to someone about what you can do to adjust those choices to suit who you really are, free from anyone else’s agenda for you. You may feel unclear what it is that is troubling you, let alone what to do about it. You may simply know that something’s just not right.
Much of my work has been concerned with clients’ life transitions following on from bereavement, divorce, estrangement and other losses, illness, retirement, redundancy and burnout. I have worked as a volunteer counsellor for a mental health charity, for a carers’ charity and for a bereavement service for over three years. In that time, I have gained much experience of counselling people with unpaid caring responsibilities, in particular those with family members who have a mental health diagnosis. I also have an interest in family relationships and estrangement. I am working towards accreditation with the BACP.
I understand that you may find it difficult to seek help. I am happy for you to get in touch with me using an email message so that we can explore how we might work together with the difficulties which you are experiencing. I am willing to be flexible when it comes to fees so I hope that cost will not deter you from taking the next step of arranging an initial counselling session with me.
I work on a short- and long-term basis in Camden and Islington. I have slots available on Tuesday and Wednesday. A sessions lasts for 50 minutes and costs £45.00 – £50.00 depending on the time and venue. I am willing to be flexible when it comes to fees so I hope that cost will not deter you from taking the next step of arranging an initial counselling session with me. I accept payment in cash and by debit and credit card. I operate a waiting list for clients whom I am not able to see right away.
