Jan Roubal, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, where he also works in the Centre for Psychotherapy Research. Jan is both a psychotherapist and psychiatrist. He founded and leads two training programmes: Training in Psychotherapy Integration and Gestalt Studia in the Czech Republic, as well as working as a psychotherapy trainer and supervisor internationally. Jan chairs the Research Committee of the European Association for Gestalt Therapy and has co-edited three books “Current Psychotherapy”, “Gestalt Therapy in Clinical Practice. From Psychopathology to the Aesthetics of Contact” and “Towards a Research Tradition in Gestalt Therapy”.
Peri Mackintosh is senior psychotherapist at the National Autism Unit, Bethlem Royal Hospital. He specialises in working with less-verbal people with severe and complex mental illness, who are on the autism spectrum. He devised Freeforming Contact Meditation, and pioneered embodied mindfulness approaches in psychiatric units in the 1980’s. He has published chapters and articles on Freeforming and attentional scope. He has choreographed and composed for stage and screen and taught Aikido for 20 years. He loves improvisation and his three children.
