Happy New Year, UKAGP members and readers of this newsletter! This issue is long, very long. I am reading this as an indication of community engagement and trust in the organisation, and particularly, in Piotr and Alec’s way of meeting our members and visitors at the contact boundary. I am grateful to both of them for being such wonderful advocates for and gateways to our community. I have deliberately made my introduction short this time!
There are four key messages I would like to communicate here:
I am delighted to inform you that we have made two new appointments to help us with specific projects:
Adam Kincel has taken on the role of Training officer. Adam will work closely with Liz Smears, our Trainee Officer. We are committed to co-working on specific tasks and I am sure Adam and Liz will be a highly effective team. I have every confidence that they will support the development of a vibrant community of trainees and also of Gestalt trainers from across the institutes. Watch this space!
Nika Jelendorf has taken on the role of Deputy Conference Officer, and will be working closely with Vicky Eugenio, and the Conference Organising Group this year, so that she can take over the Conference role when Vicky sadly comes to the end of her term of office and leaves us later this year. More on that in a future newsletter! Nika has already impressed us with her ideas and competences and will be supported by Liz Beauchamp, and of course, the Conference Organising Group next year.
Adam and Nika – a huge warm welcome to you both!
Please take time to look at the summary of feedback on our conference last October. Your feedback is crucial for us and we are drawing on this as we begin preparations for this year’s one day Conference, which will take place face to face in London, and online on Saturday, 18th September. Please put this date in your diary!
We are already in the early stages of planning for our 2022 residential, which will take place in Birmingham.
Many of you met Charlotte Hegley, our Social Media Officer, at the October Conference. Charlotte has developed a robust Social Media strategy for UKAGP and is currently feeding in regular weekly messages on Twitter and LinkedIn. Please add UKAGP to your list of Twitter/LinkedIn contacts, and spread the word by liking, sharing or responding to them! Thank you.
A huge amount of work goes into preparing a newsletter like this, and I would like to publicly thank Piotr and Alec for all their hard work in producing a visually stunning, and newly formatted newsletter, which can be read across a range of devices.
A newsletter however, requires content, and you, our readers have been impressively committed to contributing a range of visual and written contributions on key aspects of the wider field and how they impact us. Thank you all, particularly, Lucy Christopher, Dawn Gwilt and Gillian Downie, Karolina Burda. Hugh Pidgeon, Jon Blend and Ben Clayton-Wolfendale for your stunning images and impactful words. Piotr has added to these with a wider reading list.
Thank you to all our contributors – together, we are developing our community, which is so important right now! Please keep your contributions coming.
