I am an experienced therapist, group leader and supervisor. My work as a therapist is with couples and individuals and groups. I run two groups, one for a full day once a month and the other fortnightly, is co-facilitated with Angelika Wienrich.
I qualified in 1991 with the Gestalt Studio and have been working since then. I have also trained as a supervisor with Gaie Houston, Robin Shohet and Joan Wilmot, as a couples therapist with Robert and Rita Resnick and Judith Hemming, and in Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy with Ruella Franks.
My approach is relational and creative. I recognise therapy as a joint venture between client and therapist. It is within the environment of the relationship between therapist and counsellor that development takes place.
Additionally I teach counselling skills at the Minster Centre in London and offer academic supervision to people writing dissertations, MA’s and doctorates. . My own doctorate was through Metanoia Institute and which focuses on the experiences of mothers in stepfamilies; I am both a mother and stepmother. I say this in order to illustrate my research interests; that is in relationships and projects In this I specialise in relational and qualitative research, where the connection between researcher, research subject and participants are examined and valued.
