Overview

Piotr is a UKCP registered psychotherapist, couples therapist, supervisor and trainer working in London. He has maintained a busy practice in London since 1991, offering therapy to adults, couples and groups.

The graduate of Gestalt Centre London – initially as a counsellor and later as an individual and group psychotherapist, Piotr holds MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy and PGDip in Health Psychology. His background is in psychology and neurosciences he studied in Warsaw University, in Poland – country of his birth and childhood. Having particular interest in the unique ways in which we relate to our bodies and bodies of other people, Piotr has also undergone considerable training in body therapy with Ruella Frank and at the Chiron Centre for Body Psychotherapy.

His training in couples therapy was initially with Joseph Zinker in the early 90s, and more recently with Bob and Rita Resnick at the Gestalt Associates Training Los Angeles (GATLA), Rich Hycner, Judith Hemming as well as at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships (TCCR). He works with couples whatever their sexual orientation.

Piotr draws on Gestalt therapy as his philosophy for living and personal growth. As therapist, he works in a gentle and invitational way supporting his clients’ authenticity through facilitating awareness of their present experience. He encourages the client’s unique ways of self-expression and creativity, increasing their capacity for intimate contact. Piotr is committed to providing a high standard of professional practice that respects the unique reality of his clients – whether individuals, couples or groups.

Piotr offers short term counselling when appropriate but tends to work longer term to facilitate deep and lasting change.  In addition to working from his own private practice in Highgate, he also runs personal development and training groups in the UK and Poland.

He works primarily in English but sessions can also be held in Polish.
