Overview
I endeavour to promote and witness healing and growth. My style of working is a collaborative approach which draws on what you already know about yourself and finding ways to expand on your awareness to gain a deeper understanding. I aim to help people to resolve current difficulties or past issues by increasing self awareness of how they are, both in their relationships with others and within their own body.
I am an experienced Gestalt Psychotherapist and I have been registered with UKCP since 2003. I work in private practice with individuals, couples, families and groups. I also work with Employee Assistance programmes and with companies facilitating stress management and mindfulness workshops. I am a Supervisor and facilitate an ongoing monthly personal development workshop called “Paths to Growth”.
I first discovered Gestalt whilst working at The Retreat Psychiatric Hospital in York as an Assistant Psychologist. I completed my Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy at the York Psychotherapy Training Institute and then completed an MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy at Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. Since then I have come to see the Gestalt philosophy as not just a set of therapeutic technique but as tools for living a more authentic and fulfilling life.
