Notes for Contributors

The UKAGP Editorial Team seeks contributions from gestalt practitioners around the globe.
We are interested in learning more about you, such as your ideas, curiosities and reflections; your embodied/lived experiences; the field conditions within which you live and work. We hope the following pointers may be helpful, if you are interested in writing or creating something for our newsletter:

What are we looking for?

• We welcome a range of creative and traditional forms of communication.
Please feel free to send in: a poem; an image; a cartoon strip; a podcast; a short paragraph; a reflective commentary; an essay……
• Your submission should be new, original content produced for the newsletter. If you want to share something already published elsewhere, then please say/write something about your desire to share it with other gestalt practitioners/UKAGP subscribers and include a link to the published piece.

Who can contribute? How can we support you?

• We are keen to encourage new writers, and also people for whom English is not their first language.
• The editorial team is here to support you, whether that is to receive feedback on a draft, or to help you express yourself clearly in English.

What guidelines do you need to follow when you submit a piece?

• Submissions can be very short (e.g. a 4 line poem) or longer (up to a maximum length of 2,500 words). Less is (often) more!
• Please use Helvetica, pt11 font when you submit a piece of writing.
• We like to include an image with each poem/article. Please provide an image of your choice to accompany your submission. Alternatively, either ask the team to pick an image for you or let us know if you would prefer your piece to stand alone, without an image. Either way, email: publicity@ukagp.org.uk
• Please include a passport style photo of yourself.
• Please provide 150 characters to describe your submission for use on social media.
• Use jpeg format for photos/images.
• We like to include key information about you at the end of each submission. That way, readers know how to get in touch with you, should they want to respond to your piece. Our usual format is:

  • Full name

  • Connection with Gestalt: a brief sentence to describe your Gestalt allegiance/interests

  • Location (village/town/city and country)

  • Contact email

Please note:

We reserve the right not to publish everything we are sent. If/when such a situation arises, we will communicate directly with the author.

Submissions may be published in both the newsletter and on social media. If you do want want us to post your submission on UKAGP social media channels, please let us know by emailing publicity@ukagp.org.uk.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU!
DON’T BE SHY!
