The Organising Committee

Chair – Ruth Nightingale

UKAGP Gestalt UK Team Chair

Ruth began her career in Hospitality & Catering Management culminating in running her own business. During this time she trained and mentored staff and management trainees to become professional and effective business people. Subsequently, whilst working for a government funded organisation supporting business owners, she decided to train as a psychotherapist.

Since qualifying as a Gestalt Psychotherapist in 2011 she has successfully combined her business and life skills alongside her psychotherapeutic learning to work as a psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice and Academic Lecturer at Metanoia.

Secretary – Hugh Pidgeon

Events – Hannah Turner

UKAGP Gestalt UK Events Lead

I trained originally as a therapist with Ischa Bloomberg and GTS UK in Europe, with many excursions to the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland before completing my certification with Bob Resnick, Gary Yontef, Lynne Jacobs et al at the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Los Angeles.

Nowadays I meet therapy clients in a holistic Retreat Centre near where I live in Oxfordshire . A number of years living and working in Thailand and China and often visiting Japan have proved a significant influence on me personally both in my work as a therapist and as an organisational consultant. I have long been influenced by the work both of Martin Buber and the physicist David Bohm on dialogue and have greatly enjoyed bringing the two men together recently on film. I was intrigued to discover that Lore Perls drew as much upon Buddhist thinking in her influence on mainstream Gestalt Therapy practice today as they also did.

Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m a Psychotherapist, Coach, and HR Consultant.

I’m passionate about supporting individual and team development drawing on my training in Gestalt Theory. I volunteered for the events role to support our community to connect, learn, share, develop, challenge and support each other.

Outside of my professional activities I find great joy in spending time with family, learning how to play tennis, and finding new country walks with my therapy dog, Scarlett.

Publicity – Gosia Lanigan

Hello! My name is Gosia Lanigan and I am a psychotherapist in private practice and a tutor at Metanoia Institute. I first encountered Gestalt psychotherapy almost 20 years ago and it has been a passion since. I began my training in 2007 to qualify as a Gestalt psychotherapist. However, on the personal level, Gestalt philosophy has majorly influenced my way of being in the world. I volunteered for the publicity role at UKAGP to facilitate the connection between the community and the organisation as well as increasing the visibility of UKAGP as a Gestalt Community Hub. In my personal life, I cherish time spent with my family and our corgi Penny, as well as painting, gardening, and exploring outdoors.

Trainee Officer – Julia Ouzia

Training Officer - Dr Adam Kincel

Hello! I am a psychotherapist, supervisor, researcher, writer, and lecturer. I teach in various organisations in the UK and internationally including Gestalt Centre London and Institutes in Bulgaria, Georgia and Poland. I have a passion for Gestalt therapy and how it can support individuals and organisations working with intersectionality and identity. In my role at the UKAGP, I provide a space for exchanges between various UK Gestalt training bodies and their tutors.

Treasurer - Liz Beauchamp

UKAGP Gestalt UK Team Treasurer

I graduated from Metanoia in 2011 and I work part time as a psychotherapist in private practice in East London.

Having completed an MBA in 2005 I became a self-employed business consultant working primarily with owner/managers helping them to achieve their goals. Whilst studying I realised how compatible my consultancy work was with Gestalt and so completed a Diploma in Organisational Gestalt. I’ve found this has complemented my consultancy work and enables me to use my passion for Gestalt in a much wider context – my business clients seem to find it quite useful too!

In my spare time, which I’m always trying to increase, I love to travel and enjoy trekking in far and distant lands where I’m never happier than when the phone has no signal, the only running water is in a nearby stream and the only decision to make is whether to wear an extra layer!

Volunteer - Venus Easwaran

Staff Roles

Community Administrator – Rhodri Karim

I’m Rhodri, currently in my third year of the Advanced Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy at the Welsh Psychotherapy Institute, Cardiff.

After a 10 year stint in software engineering, I began the process of retraining in 2017 with the UWE Certificate in Counselling. I also release music under the aliases Uther Moads and R. Karim, and have previously curated the post-human performance party Witch Please. My art practice takes shape at the fertile and permeable boundaries between magic, mythos, imagination, society, ecology, the body and sanity.

Social Media – Martyna Glowacka

UKAGP Gestalt UK Team Social Media

I am studying counselling at the Gestalt Centre in London.

My background is in documentary filmmaking, communications and community work. Currently, I work as a care coordinator in a hospice.

I love to be in nature and on meditation retreats.
