Exploring Shame
Saturday March 29, 2025 The Practice
Rooms Stokes Croft BS2 80R
A1-day workshop that will explore shame as an emotional and physiological response. We will examine with exercises:
• What triggers feelings of shame
• Shame as an habitual response
• What purpose does shame serve
The goal of this workshop is to gain a deeper understanding of the breadth and impact of shame, and how it can become chronic and integrated into the body as an emotion to avoid.
We will examine recovery from shame, and how feeling shame need not be an essential part of life. There will be space to explore living a confident life without resorting to feeling shame.
There will be opportunities for individual and group reflections on all aspects of shame, how it can become a learnt response, and how individuals can unlearn and protect/ against feeling shame. Looking at shame can be challenging.
