Spring 2023: What was, will be, and is
As we move from winter to spring, we (our editorial team) find ourselves reflecting on the liminal space between, the current moment where we are not quite in one season or the other. The end of winter, the death of friends, family and community members, the newness of spring as the flowers start to break through the soil’s surface, the hope of warm sun and brighter days, and the swampiness of the moment between.
Winter 2023: We are not alone - Finding Ground in Turbulent Times
I had a few minutes to spare one morning last month. Slightly aimlessly, I flicked through the news app on my phone. Within a short time, I’d read these headlines, among others:
“Like a horrific board game: 33 hours inside an NHS in crisis”
“The women on a war footing as the cost-of-living crisis deepens”
“US: onslaught of new abortion restriction looms”
Instantly, I felt more on more precarious ground and dwarfed by the magnitude of the turmoil in the UK and across the globe …
